The next step in our planning process involves having multiple discussions to try and come up with ideas. And that's exactly what we did. Over the course of a few days, we took advantage of technology and had a lot of online meetings while recording our ideas on a common jamboard. We faced some difficulty while combining our ideas because they had a similar theme but every one of them had different aspects that were hard to incorporate into one.
This is the first idea of someone getting chased by an unknown creature. The camera movement would imitate the actions happening in the movie while alternating between POVs and a variety of different shots. We would give it a creepy vibe while using muted colours and interesting music.
This is another idea that we had that is very similar but it is taking place in the woods and it has a slightly different vibe. This is also when we decided to take inspiration from the opening of "Killing them softly".
We plan on alternating sequences of the movie with black screens of conventions such as the title and selling line. We're also going to alternate sounds and confuse the audience a bit.
At this point, we had a couple of main ideas established so we decided to make a different jamboard page with all the ideas that we will definitely incorporate in our film opening.
After a couple of more hours of work, we made a plan of the overall layout of the opening sequence while incorporating all of our ideas.
The final story is: A person who suffers from some kind of mental illness, starts running because they feel like they're being chased. Right as they open the door, they step into a forest and continue running. It then transitions between different locations like the middle of the street, to the middle of a field and so on. As the opening comes to an end we see a shot of the character slowing down and turning around just to discover that they were alone all along and that they're back in their apartment. Having imagined all that has happened.
The title we came up with is "relocation" and we feel like it matches the vibe of the story and somewhat sums up what it's all about. The selling line is the definition of the word disassociation, leaving the watcher curious.
